Last April our friend John Colson visited Afognak Wilderness Lodge http://afognaklodge.com/Default.aspx in Kodiak Alaska and bagged a 10 foot 3 inch Kodiak brown bear.

BLASTING COMES TO A CLOSE AND CASTING BEGINS

The 2009/2010 edition of our duck season came to a close yesterday with a loud bang. Our customers harvested over 6000 of the flying entrees from right here in southwest Louisiana. WAY TO GO GUYS.

Our hunters continue to bring limits of ducks each day from the marsh to the picking house. Lots of Teal, Gadwall, Widgeon, Pintail and even a Green head or two have continued to come down with all of this cold weather. We have been averaging over 1000 ducks per week from our blinds. SECOND SPLIT OF DUCK SEASON TO OPEN WITH A BANG

The second split of duck season here in southwest Louisiana will open this coming Saturday with all the right ingredients in place. Cold weather north of here has introduced some new ducks to our area and our marshes are holding good counts of birds. After the hunt light tackle fishing continues to be fantastic. Here are a couple of pictures from the last day of the first split and yesterdays fishing trip with captain Bobby. They caught over 100 redfish during the day.
